"You gotta have faith in the corporate world, because it's always gonna be there and, uh, if you don't have faith in it, uh... it's just not good."

Joel Bakan, who wrote The Corporation, is working on his next book which will focus on corporate impacts on children.

This DVD is in the library... Most products (crap) is for the most part, not available for check-out from a library... except RAP music! *L*
I think that there are good shows on TV, but I refuse to watch TV. I either rent them from Netflix or check them out from the library. The people who produce them get paid.
Buying is not bad, but manipulation is.
Having faith in the corporate world is like having faith that your favorite team will always be there.

I've done much of my work with children. I have been appalled by the marketing stratigies used by coporations, especially Disney and Nickolodean, in proliferating the garbage of a capitilistic ideologue. T.V has more of impact on our young minds than we can possibly suspect and a serious conversation about its pollution must come the forum.

This film said "buying is bad"? Please, point out where this was said.

You've really got to unplug your televisions. Most importantly, don't allow your children to watch.
Through our televisions we are being programed to consume consume consume . . .look around you. How much of that crap you've surrounded yourself with do you really need?
Test yourself. If your home was about to go down in a flood or be engulfed by flames, and you only had an hour to get your valuables out, what would you save?
The rest is expendable; and most of it is crap.

Capitalism works when we have intelligent contemplated demand. Capitalism begins to degenerate when we try to manufacture demand. |
