Pelton has influenced me greatly. I`ve used his books countless times as references for my essays in school. His real, hes got a gritty sense of humor, and he has a very interesting take on world events. I wonder what Pelton thinks about the current situation in Pakistan?

This guys a genius, would love meet him someday, have read one of his books and have seen some of the episodes of the television show that he did, not only is he very intelligent he is also very brave to go to all those dangerous places and risk his life just so that he can educate us Westerners which live in safe cosy luxury countries.

Pelton's book includes stories by other but he always acknowledges they are contributing writers. I know the guy, he has a certain flare but he has more experience traveling in tough places than nearly anyone else, mil or otherwise. His writing might save your backside some day, unless your strictly an armchair traveler.

for example.. i can take his dp format, lonely planet maps and info, some random internet stories, along with my brief experience in central america and can become an official source on things...

this guy is weak.....a little on the anti-semitic side.....he hasnt seen 1/2 of the things he says he has....just tries to win respect telling other men's stories...his dp books are indicative of his naive approach, as they are poorly researched, not updated well, and are usually composed of other's research....
