Our league is 12 years old. The video isn't claiming we are better than anyone, it was just showing bicycle kicks over MLS history.

Also its not like Americans tried to change the name of football... I mean soccer is just kind of a slang for Association Football, which is the official name for football in America. I guess the name soccer just caught on or something.

The term football originated in the dark ages in England and it was used to describe a game played on foot. Rather than on hoarse which the high class played, football was the peasant's sports. I say sports because they called many games football including rugby and what the world now knows as football. I would say American football is named such because of this factor.
