It is a misconception that 82nd become 'legs' (infantry) on the ground. Ex., all officers and NCOs are req. to go through Ranger school, many 82nd go through SERE school, Jungle Readiness Training in Panama, Cold Weather Training in Canada New York, Desert/Armor training in Cali and spec. training in Germany, Egypt, special ops in high risk areas, serving in the Sinai.. 12mi road marches weekly, high lvl of EOD/Demo, medical so on training, the only Div w/ Apache's, no leg mos like drivers.

your wrong on so many levels. There are diffrent areas of Special Operations, Rangers, Special Forces, 1rst SFOD-D ect. Oh, by the way, a green beret is the cover worn by Special Forces Operators. Its a cover, not a unit. |
