The comical thing is, very few have commented on the song, mostly on if he is indeed a rip of someone. It was said a long time that nothing we make is original, because it's all been done before. Every singer and writer has influnces, they're all ripping someone in a sense. But that doesn't mean what they're doing isn't original. My point is this though, don't go to a pop concert and demand rock, same with this, don't bitch about Nick to a fan and expect them to agree.

Also most of what Nick writes anyway could be attributed to his education and family his father was an English lit teacher and taught Nick himself. If you actually listen to most of his songs you can hear in the way he writes that he is extremely versed in classic writing and the bible. He was raised catholic I think I know for sure he went to a private school where his father taught. Btw he's Australian not American

Amatrolia Nick Cave doesn't rip anyone off though I do agree with you when you say new artists are writing all the time. The music now is better then it was then it's much more involved people can only really improve on what has been. Nick Cave is without a doubt one of the best poet/song writers of his time but others will come some better some the same.
