And if the Republicans bring troops home early, that means they're admitting that this war was a mistake from day one, which also gives the opposition ammunition to keep more Republicans out of power and increase their majority in Congress. The only way they can "prove" that they're 'strong on defense' is to do whatever they can to prove that Iraq wasn't a mistake and continue saving face long enough to keep getting Republicans elected til we withdraw.

Pro-war folks who repeat Republican talking about points about how big of a mistake it would be if we left know it's all a bunch of BS. I really don't think the Iraqis are actually going to let a bunch of fundamentalist Muslims take over their country. You know sure as hell they're gonna fight back and defend it! There will be no "genocide" or any of that other bullshit they claim will happen. Pro-war folks can't admit they're full of shit, because if they do, they HAVE to bring troops home!

Jim Webb (and his son) has actually served, unlike 95% of the chickenhawk Republicans today and most of the pro-war people in this administration. These pro-war types talk a big game about how troops in Iraq are 'protecting our freedom' and we should all join the military to 'serve our country', but when it came to put up or shut up, they refused to themselves serve, getting deferments of all kinds, for education and whatnot. What a bunch of hypocrites!

There's no doubt that unless someone releases a biological or chemical agent to turn South Carolinians into dumbasses come November, he will finally be unseated by Bob Conley, a Democrat who's way more conservative and qualified than him. Graham, Lieberman and McCain and all their friends in their "moderate" old boys' club can go crawl in a hole and die for all I care. They're only fucking up politics even more. Maverick McCain? My ass! Only on like 5 issues out of 20 or 25.

Lindsey Graham is another Boy Scout Republican. I sure hope Obama does the right thing and at least picks someone as qualified for running mate as Webb, but I still hate Obama. He's a terrible choice for the Dems and nominating HIM of all people was the worst decision the DNC voters could ever make. The party Thomas Jefferson started has degraded to THIS! There is no evidence Iraq will 'fall to the terrorists' or any other crap if we leave. No serious intel analyst believes it.

When will Graham and McCain and all these other moron war supporters get their heads out of their asses regarding the so-called "consequences" of withdrawing from this ill-conceived invasion they call a war?? If the people want us out, we have a duty to bring home the troops, esp. those in the White House and Congress. No ifs ands or buts. These guys act like they're somehow so much smarter than the voters and know what the voters want better than THEMSELVES. It sickens me.
