to tell the truth, I don't think Green Day tries to put itself in league with The Clash. Thats mostly some retarded fanboys that can't get the differences through their heads. I like Green Day, I love the Clash. They both have good aspects.

actually im just gonna end this internet battle now.sex pistols and the clash are both different but same. they arent better than each other. hell im a big fan of both. but what im tying to say, the clash have made pretty good albums and the lyrics are true for both the sex pistols and the clash. the sex pistols made one album but the album was highly influential on many bands. the clash were inlfuenced by the sex pistols when they started out. they are both great bands and equally the same.
