So it's best to use an armadillo to get a more accurate measurement?

This method can only be accurate for a full roller bowler. It will become less and less accurate for low track bowlers since it is very difficult to trace a perpendicular on curved tracks. (On spherical geomety the only rect trace you can make is a so called "great circle" that is a line traced with a quarter scale like the pro-sect which has the same diameter as the ball).

Thanks a bunch for posting this! I'm still learning this dynamic weight stuff... I learned to bowl when top, side and finger weights ("static" weights) were what you paid attention to. I'll be studying more 'cause my ball always worked best quite loaded (but legal of course) static-weight-wise. Thanks again.

can u help me understand better how you determine the two lines that you drew that are parallel to the grip center? how do you know which way to draw those lines? how much space are in-between them?

Your PAP is important to map out and layout a ball to achieve a specific ball reaction. Without it, you are merely GUESSING.
