I love the way Bird played, but it looked like he was kinda "looking down" at Hawk when Hawk was doing his thing. Well, Hawks' solo was very beautiful, with nice, soulful notes and telling the "story" in his own way. Everything doesn't have to be said so frantically, in 32nd notes all the time. But, I love all of their styles. "The MIX" is good. That's what good Jazz listening and appreciation is all about. If everyone played the same way you would only have to buy one record. LOL!!!

the teacher and the student. Not enough is said to credit bean. Parker is the master but
poor is the student who does not surpass his teacher

If you're still out there, Bird's using a metal Link on a King Super 20-he played a Brilhart earlier.

Fuckin- A! Bird still makes me cry every time I hear him blow. I don't give a shit whether Jazz purists think this is one of his better performances. To me, Bird always kills!
