The young Gould is always astonishing, pretty much different that in his last years... As Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach says, the music of his father was serious, elaborate and deep, and Gould plays this incredibly difficult piece as he was doing a stroll in the countryside! Sorry for my english, It's not my motherlanguage :-)

Can anyone else play Bach on piano? ;)

What an honour to see such a genius at work!

Pretty much the definitive player of the Italian Concerto (as well as the Goldberg Variations, Keyboard Concertos, and most of the other Bach keyboard works).
And this piece isn't exactly a cakewalk...
Technical difficulties do not seem to exist for Mr. Gould.

Can you notice Gould rarely shaking hands at the end of the movie?

After hearing Gould play Bach, you never want to hear anyone else play Bach on piano.
