i dont care if they were warned of if they did or didnt have jobs or drugs this is still fucked up, either way they are homeless, even if they moved to another spot the cops would just want them to move from there as well. this is a sick state of mind the cops have why dont they try to find them a home or a vacant building to put the tents in or something other than cutting up the tent

I live in St. Petersburg, FL, so please don't discredit my observations. The city has many places for these homeless to go, including The Salvation Army, right in the middle of town on 66th. They stand on the major intersections (Especially in Tyrone), and beg for money everyday, with a new sign stating a new problem. I work for a company that CATCHES them stealing, and when they are searched, have HUNDREDS of dollars on person. They are all liars, cheats, and need to get jobs and start over

Ok I dont know the full facts but cutting up tents is far too extreme! They could have loaded them on a truck to be reclaimed at a later date on payment of any fines. Those people must be there for a reason and if it is a drugs/homeless issue then where is the help for them to relocate.Anyone these days can end up in a tent and I want to see decent approach to moving people on if absolutely necessary

No you do not know the full story. The city gave them enough time to remove the tents. Over 50% of the people that lived their have jobs and most likely by drugs. The city codes does not allow them to have tents on sidewalks like that, so they were allowed to take the tents after they refused to leave.
