"unlimited range" is misleading, but it's cool you're working on something worthwhile!

well between ultra-capacitors and rapid charge li batterys this idea is obsolete
given we are capable of 150-300 miles now(at great cost but dropping week by week)
recharge time is 15 mins
you travel ~200 miles stop for a coffee, a um rest break or for direction plugging in your car by time you hop back in your car its full charge
locally cost per mile is 3~4 cent per mile EV 17 cent for (22mpg) gas. there fore i can charge 2x or much more for the elctricity and still be cheaper

hey! interesting movie!
I wanted to ask: cars will have diffent sizes, so if the car is bigger, it will need bigger batteries, or more of this batteries. How will this be managed with this system?
And, if you are coming to this station, for what will you pay: For the electricity, to charge the battery, or the battery itself?

i agree with you jkulhanek.

An alternator requires more mechanical power input than it will put out in electricity...So it would use more power than it will give...
machintruc313 (September 8, 2008 at 8:14 am)
how about inserting an alternator and therefore no need to recharge or 'swap' batteries??? This is how fuel powered car function... But I guess someone somewhere needs to profit anyway, right? right! :)

Fascinating approach to replacing batteries, assuming every driver of every model car can stop exactly where the mechanism is. Nevermind that, I love how the video explains why this technology will magically work better than what's available as of now.

well the next thing in the world be
stealing battery's .. and world domenation for battery..

System of car would likely require a twelve volt battery that remained in the car to power basic operating systems and keep the computer from surging during battery exchange.
This smaller battery would likely be maintained by an alternator and/or the larger battery pack.
At least, that's how I could see it working.
Problem I see with this idea is the number of batteries that might be changed in the charge time could easily exceed a reasonable capacity of the system. If the car became popular.

Good idea. You can report the chanches with a counter.
