My time on YouTube may be over... I may have infringed on the copyrights of the authors and creators of the "This I Believe" audio series and if so I'll pay the price for it... If you posted a video response to any of the "This I Believe" videos and would like to attach them to this video that would be cool with me. I thank you all for helping bring attention to the great body of work "This I Believe" http://www.thisibelieve.org/vi... UPDATE!!! 6/6/08 A note to the You Tube community from Dan Gediman, Executive Director, This I Believe, Inc.: Many of you may know of the recent issue over videos made by Paul Robinett (aka Renetto) that consisted of him reading, in their entirety, essays from the This I Believe series that we produce for public radio. This I Believe is an international project engaging people in writing, sharing, and discussing the core values that guide their daily lives. These short statements of belief, written by people from all walks of life, are published on our website at http://www.thisibelieve.org/ as well as in regular broadcasts on public radio. The project is based on a popular 1950s radio series of the same name hosted by Edward R. Murrow. When we learned about these videos, which were made without our permission, we were understandably concerned. We approached Mr. Robinett, informed him that the works in question were protected by copyright, and asked him to take them down, which he did promptly when asked. I want to stress that we took this action not motivated in any way by censorship. We fully support freedom of expression. We were trying to protect the copyrights of the essayists who wrote the words that Mr. Robinett was reading verbatim. When these writers granted rights to us, they did so with the understanding that they would be used for very specific purposes, such as broadcast on public radio and being included in a book. For this reason, we had no choice but to ask that the videos be removed. Since that time, we have been in contact with one of the essayists in question, Phyllis Allen, who has given her permission to Mr. Robinett to re-post his video of her essay. Given this fact, we are also granting permission for Mr. Robinett to do so, provided that proper copyright attribution is included and that he does not personally profit financially from the essayist's work. In the coming days, we hope to contact all the other essayists in question to see if they would allow permission for this usage as well. We are not at all opposed to anyone who wishes to make similar videos of their favorite This I Believe essay. We simply ask that they contact us first to receive permission and proper copyright attribution from us and the individual essayist. You can reach us at http://www.thisibelieve.org/co... And if you would like to submit your own essay to the This I Believe project, please visit http://www.thisibelieve.org/ag... Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you for posting this video to keep your viewers informed! I very much hope this all gets cleared up. If not, however, I would like to know where else I might be able to find found online. I find your videos very helpful, informative, and... well, you've become a friend even though we've never really had a traditional conversation. Just keep us posted as best as possible, please. YouTube would be making a serious mistake to ban you over this =(

Even if your IP is changed, it still will trace to the same place. That, along with him obviously being himself, is a sure-sign of him being Renetto. They can then contact is ISP and confirm his activity, and since he violated the TOS various times, Youtube can have his internet service removed.

Fucking hell, he is on the verge of crying. What a fucking idiot. You can't be banned for life from YouTube. Your IP address can be banned for life, all you have to do is change your IP if you're on cable, usually DSL changed everytime you reset your router or you could just use a proxy. There is no way they could tell who is who and if they recognise you from the video, just say you have not got a clue what they're talking about. The only way they can know is if they were sad enough to get DNA.

It could very well come to maybe a intent of no wrong doing blanket contract that either users who have previously infringed upon copyrighted materials be required to subscribe. This would insure the copyrighted materials from unflattering and or Malicious intent if the users material were reviewed before posting. in short censorship.
