No that's just a myth.

is it true that you can K.O Sagat with just one oryuken if you land it correctly?

Yeah he ruined my chances for a Double Flawless victory, so he deserved all that he gets in return.

Also it helps to know that the 'Japan' version actually makes for easier execution of the special moves than compared to the 'World' version (that I am playing in this video).

It's not about not doing Adon any justice or whatever. It is just that, like all other characters, he is erratic by nature. It's good that I managed to stop him at the critical moments when he started changing his mind about being a laggard, that's all.
The hardest execution of the special moves would be (in order of the highest difficulty):
#1 Pressure pads
#2 Keyboard
#3 Regular arcade controls
#4 Joypad

Yeah. And it's *unblockable*.
No surprise here. Capcom was starting from scratch and doing what came naturally. The specialties were based on the super-powerful special attacks from fighting anime (right down to the calls), so of course they'd do massive damage.
Anyway, it's good to take a look back every once in a while to see just how far this game, and fighting games in general, have come.

Ah, this takes me back. :-)
Make no mistake about it, a 1-credit completion is pretty impressive. I only ever saw it a few times. Some of these opponents can flatten you in ten seconds if you mess up (I agree that this video really doesn't do Adon any justices).
I do know that some players got really good at pulling out specialties on demand. Now that I've actually played this, I'm extremely impressed at how easy they made it look.
SeventhSun (September 29, 2008 at 5:10 am)
Yup I mentioned that earlier.

I love high-damage games. The extremity appeals to me, and you do not waste time.
Any one who has any recommendations of video game past and present of such a nature feel free to let me know. |
