Yeah but that wasnt the argument I was trying to make. Seems to me They took advantage of Doug's desperation at the time when he sold the rights to them. Oh and if your gonna respond back to someone's comment you dont have to be an asshole about it, thats one of the many reasons people get depressed in the first place because they have to deal with so much bullshit.

your insights about the human psyche are astounding... NOT. Some people are so "lost" there is nothing you can do to help. They need to help themselves. The best you can do is listen and offer your friendship. Simply show them you are there. It's really up to the individual to break the depression cycle themself. The lead singer of this band seems like a nice guy. I met him at a local concert and can't imagine him being mean to Doug.

im not done. Later after the Gin Blossoms had a hit from Doug's song Hey Jealousy, Doug Hopkins comited suicide. you can't really blame him though; the people that you thought were your bros just turn your back on you and make tons of money off your songwriting! how fucked up is that?

What you guys probably don't know is that Gin blossoms capitalized off of Doug Hopkin's lyrics (Hey Jealousy). Doug Hopkins wrote these lyrics originally and then his bandmates kicked him out due to alcoholism etc. doug Hopkins was basically sold out when the rights to the song were bought by the Gin Blossoms for only $15,000 paid to Hopkins who was in need for money at the time (probably because he was kicked out of his band).
