I like this song I thought it was a man also the first time I heard it many years ago so don't feel bad. I like there song "He's so shy" much better

I thought the singer for debarges rythme of the night was a woman and I found out it was a man so don't feel bad

You're right, she does have a bass tone to her. But it's a great song and I love it. And you're not the only one to get confused about the gender of singers. "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off," is another favorite song of mine, but I always thought Tina Turner or some other woman sang it. I didn't realize it was a guy, Jermaine Stewart. Which when you listen to the lyrics, it doesn't make much sense for a guy to be singing that to a woman

You're not the only one. I must have heard this song hundreds of times over the years and I never once thought the singer was a woman. I only found out about 10 minutes ago. Not that I mean anything by that... it's just a bass tone is all. I've gotten the gender wrong with music before. Regardless, this is a great song.

Please don't laugh, but for years the only time I've heard this song was on the radio and I honestly thought the lead singer was a man. I had no idea that the Pointer Singers sang this song. It's a great song, but I didn't realize that was her voice. But I have heard it for the longest time, so I'm saying this to my favorites. Thanks for posting this! timesobserver DOT blogspot DOT come Please take the "e" out of come.
