Josh White is the other singer in this video -- he was one of the most famous black american singers of the 1930s and 40s. He was later caught up in the Red Scare in the 1950s and blacklisted. His story is also pretty crazy.

Libby Holman is the singer of this video. She was a famous (Broadway) singer and actress of the early 1930's. She married RJ Reynolds Tobacco heir, Zachary Smith Reynolds. Reynolds was shot and killed in 1932, Libby charged with his murder. Charges were later dropped by the Reynolds Family. Libby led a scadalous life till she comitted suicide in 1973.
