Although the Cotton Industry would take a hit from the production of hemp, the industries that would suffer most would be Forestry and Petroleum. Anything Trees can do, Hemp can do better, same goes for petroleum.

Hemp without the THC is good. Reason why Hemp is no longer used is because of the lobbying by the textile industry and cotton. Cotton is in serious decline and the textile industry in the states is minimal. Hemp is only specialized now for industrial uses. Not for garments. There is push in the states and Europe for a hemp garment industry especially for work clothes.
