When I was a kid, the Bundesliga had two stars from Iceland - Sigurvinsson (best midfielder of 83/84) and Evaldsson, who once scored 5 goals against Frankfurt. And later there was Sverrisson, who wasn't only a tough defender, but who was also voted "sexiest player of the Bundesliga" in 1999, LOL. And when you think of Iceland and football over here, you also think of Rudi Völlers legendary rant after the 0:0 of the NT in Reykjavik. So, icelandic football left it's mark in germany.;)

Read the title...,,Áfram Ísland" = Go Iceland? The song is certainly not about how much we ,,suck" at football. And yeah ironicly they mention how poor we're at football. But for an country at the size of 300.000 inhabits we're pretty god damn good! So when you think you're winning, you're actually losing.
