I love to see/hear bass players who know how to take advantage of the melodic possibilities of their instrument when soloing. Yeah, it's fun to hear technically-impressive work; but the electric bass in the upper registers has such a wonderful sound for the kind of almost vocal-sounding, fluid lines Tony Grey works with.
