Same problem. I am leaning towards the EEE PC because it has a little better Linux distro and has more RAM (the aspire only has 512). Plus I guess the Celeron still pushes more computing power around than the Atom (I have heard the Atom is kind of lame, gives about 20 extra minutes of battery, but you notice the lower floating point operations).

Guy's... a bit of advice please... I want a small Mini Laptop for College this year to use every day. But i don't know whether to get this but with a 20Gb SSD or do i get the base model ACER ASPIRE ONE. Thanks for your help... Ryan xxx

you can use external cd drive; or install a virtual cd drive like Alcohol 120% and import ISOs and images by SD card

USB. download. it's not the greatest if you're trying to run a bunch of games, but for games like WoW or Eve-Online it's ok, because you have to download those anyway.
