Sanitarium*
I like the verse in unforgiven 2 too, similar melancholy chord structure, not to the same extent though.

Spot on cadaverr. Fade to Black, Sanitariun, One, and The day that never comes are all from the same vein.
Deep down though, Fade To Black is my favourite Metallica song of all time. Special mention to Orion too.

This song... Along Welcome Home (sanitarium), One and a couple more are ery rare tunes. They have a supernatural feeling to them thats very rare to translate into words. A very rare event of excepcional composition where everything seems to be well thought, composed, placed and (production wise) fine tuned. Sanitarium's original Master Of Puppets version has (maybe) an even bigger supernatural, manipulative (as the Master of PUPPETS album as a whole suggests) and beautiful melancholy to it.

More like a well justified EARgasm. Something good musicians have once in a while when in deep touch with their souls. I can directly relate to that as well. Good, special, excepcional music should be able to provoke it on you (you can also call it "catharsis"). :]
