Owens is a hero because the americans won the war and they could use his image as a symbol of this winning, and they still use images to reinforce their national feeling -as Hitler and other regimes did- We can't think that americans loved black people, so what Martin L. King's struggle was for?

seriously, this nearly brings me to tears. america is not a perfect place by any means... in fact we are currently suffering from some horrible beliefs and ideas that spread in our populace like a disease... but overall, at her core, america is downright beautiful. I am truly proud to be an american! I hope we get our act together as a country, but despite the misguided politics all people of the world should know that America is full of good people.. .and the american experience is special
