Modest Mouse has an amazing fan base, myself included, so I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree. Maybe they're not the best live performers, but Modest Mouse most likely felt like they were in the shadow of REM, one of the most legendary bands out there. Maybe that's why they weren't totally game and at their best. Listen to an album. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Well, I'm 35 and just love this. And so does my 15-year-old son. But the real good one is that my mom, 59, just listened to "Apartment Story" and was like: "Wow, this sound great!" There's no age for good music, I think.

i only have seen modest mouse once in 1997. it was a very small venue in ann arbor called the blind pig and they rocked.

i love the national as well. i consider it very mature rock, if that makes any sense. it sounds like what 30 to 50 year old indie rockers would listen to, in a very good way. people that did there hard rockin out back in the day that are looking for more subtlety. that's why i like the video. everyone is over 30 and having kids. it's kind of cool. i apologize if i sound ignorant, but do people under 21 listen to the national?
