i agree dcmey that a blind test should be done, im not saying the chambered standards dont sound like a true les paul, however i compared a custom, and classic and traditional to the standard and the chambered definetaly has a more pronounced acoustical higher pitched tone, almost sg'ish. they sounded good but do not have the lower end over tones the solidmodels have, wich maybe what some players prefer. besides 98% of tone is in pickups anyway, the magnets put the sound to the amp, not the wood

You have no idea of what your talking about Tonepatroller. I own a chambered LP and they sound just like the non chambered. People have said for a long time Gibson LP's were to heavy, then they do something about it not effecting the tone and some people flip out because the new one's are lighter. I hope somebody does a blind test of a chambered Gibson LP and non chambered so people can hear the guitars and try to figur out what is what.

Check out the Gibson Studios. I own a Gibson LP Vintage Mahogany it's a great guitar that won't break the bank.

i can not stand gibson they are way to expensive you can not find a cheap gibson they do not care for the somman guitar player only the rich one

The guitar finishes the sentences.

yeah I agree. John Butler from the John Butler Trio plays an old hippie hunk of crap with rusty strings but he manages to get an excellent sound. It all depends on the musical direction ur going in as to what type of guitar is appropriate

Just because one guitar sounds different from another doesn't necessarily mean that one sounds good and the other sounds horrible. They just sound DIFFERENT! |
