I agree with you, but some of the advice can help "his" arrangement become a better piece. At least, that's how I would take the advice as.

I love the concept and where you were taking this song. I thought the interpretation was beautiful. But, there is to much pedal and some parts are unnecessary like making some segments go way to fast and going slow again. Just keep it at the same pace, you can change rhythm, but don't change it dramatically. I think if you played around with it some more it could turn into something wonderful. Keep at it, a beautiful arrangement nonetheless.

You can't really be telling him what is better, he wanted it to sound the way it did that's why he arranged it this way, so you really shouldn't be "giving him advice" on how he "should" have done it.

Very good, showing creativity. Though when changing a song, puting more notes in isn't always the best. Subtracting notes can be better.
