I remember this video from the old hard 'n' heavy series... Voivod at the time of Dimension Hatross and Nothingface were one of the most original bands on the planet. They cared not for fashions, not even following the metal scene of which they were a part, and covered bands like Pink Floyd and King Crimson in their own way. Nobody has ever sounded like voivod, i still listen to these albums nearly 20 years on, and theyre not one bit dated imho. RIP Piggy, one of the greatest guitarists ever!

I saw them only once live (poor me!)... they opened for Kreator in Germany, back in the late 80s... they were AMAZING. Unforgettable!

I find it amazing that nobody has come close to Piggy's playing in, what, 20 years? The whole band was perfect.

RIP Piggy. Legend.
These guys were awesome. From Hatross through to Outer Limits there was no-one better. I remember getting stoned off my box with a buddy of mine in Amsterdam in 1990 while listening to Nothingface and shaving off half my hair just like Blacky. Unfortunately, it just made me look like a complete prick.

Maybe, just maybe, Tribal Conviction inspired Enter Sandman. I find a strange similarity in the opening drum grooves of both songs. Too bad Voivod did not cash in also... |
