Read these words:The directive was ordered to
ground immediately all Q400's over 10,000 cycles
UNTIL they were ALL inspected for possible gear failures. This directive is almost a Year old, so these planes were probably grounded and very quickly returned to service, otherwise the companies would probably go bankrupt from the revenue
losses.

SAS are now flying Q400's again, in fact SAS partner airlines ordered 14 more Q400's as part of the settlement about this issue. I fly on these quite often with the biggest operator Flybe, they haven't had a gear collapse incidents and it a nice aircraft

did it collapse? did they lose pressure? or did it simply not lock into position? Cause if it didnt lock pilots should have had no green light. If they lost hydraulics the pilots shuold have been alerted that there was a failure with the undercarrage. but if it collapsed. then wow. No real preperation you can do for something like that. Didnt look too bad of a landing tho. Except for the whole "crash" thing

the landing gear collapsed, not truly a crash
but an equipment failure. Pilot did the best
he could concerning the situation.
