For me, this song brings memories of home...Savannah, GA. The home of this song's composer, Johnny Mercer. There really IS a Moon River, in Savannah, which is located off the intracoastal waterway. When I was young, we used to fish, crab and shrimp on that river. It was great for water skiiing and barefoot skiing!! You had to watch for the oyster beds, though.

My favorite song ever. It just tugs at my heart strings and brings me to tears...happy ones. It brings you back to a different era that we will never experience but can sort of take us to that place in time if we just listen hard enough.

I have never been an Andy Williams fan. But I have to admit, no one can sign this better than her. I could listen to him signing this millions of times. Actually I have this song in my Ipod. |
