1992 - 1997 - the best period for english music for a long long time.

Why is Damon wearing an NWO top?

I grew up in the 1990s and while I liked it at the time, Britpop was a bit like New Labour: devoid of content, all image, and basically a white middle-class male led movement pretending to be all inclusive. The only real heavyweights that have gone on to prove themselves are Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker.

Suede...Epitome of Britpop
RhysAneurin (March 24, 2008 at 10:09 pm)
I'd say that though it was originally a journalist's term, Britpop defines british music between late 92 and the start of 97, from the exciting rise of suede to oasis' dissapointing 'be here now'. Its after then that uninspiring rubbish like Travis and Embrace became massive, with major labels cashing in on the commercial success of guitar bands like Oasis and Blur. And Keane? Urgh, don't get me started...:-)

I personally feel like the 60's was our biggie and then everything was great again in the 90's, I think the music of today is a long shot from creating the same feel as the 60's or 90's?

because britpop refers to a group of bands between 92-97
