the guy told me he had a gun, but i didn't want to see that... i know the crime is going down in NYC, but it exists, just like in every big city.. NYC, Chicago, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Rio, London, Paris are great cities each one with its problems, violence, poverty, ...

were you robbed by two guys with a gun ponted at your head at noon time? I don't think so. Rio isn't a safe place. Sorry to hear you were robbed at Times Square, crimes in NYC are down big time.

i live in rio for 22 year, and just 1 month in NY was was robbed. In timesquare, in front of swatch store, they stoled my swatch. That's funny cause everywhere is the same, i wasn't the first and u either!! The world is dangerous. maybe a safe place to visit is utah in USA and Acre in Brazil!

I live in Rio and you are right. Rio is a very dangerous city, especially for tourists. Everybody who lives here is concerned about violence. You never know wheter you will be a victim of violence or not. There is a lot of safe beautiful places in Brazil but not Rio.

Sou carioca e moro no Rio. Já viajei para quase todos os Estados do Brasil e tenho que admitir que no Rio você vê mais gente mal educada, bandido, prostitutas, drogados, playboyzinho filhinhos de papai maconheiros e cheiradores, favelas e violência do que em qualquer outro Estado que eu fui. È uma vergonha. Hoje a cultura do que Rio se resume a drogas e funk.
