What was that ghost movie with John Cusack which featured this song? It's a soft rock classic- mellow and relaxing music like this just isn't made in this tensed-up day and age.

I didn't realize it when I was young but now I can see what a wonderful talent she really was.
God bless her.

'Nasal'!??! LOL.....apparently all that Jim Beam has dulled you mental acuity (I'm assuming it was there at some point.....LOL!)

Karen Carpenter sings from her diaphragm while Barbara Streisand sings through her nose. Sorry, I don't see nasally vocals as "talent".

My father's taste in music influenced some of what I developed to love. Even though I grew to enjoy rock and he never did, I still hold some of his musical tastes. He loved both Streisand and Carpenters, but if I had to choose, my money would go to Carpenters. Karen's voice seemed consistently soft as butter while Barbara occasionally injected fire. Pick up Carpenters Gold, a huge 40 song masterwork, and you'll see just how awesome they were. |
