She sings it very moving: Et elle tremble delicieusement.
The undertitels were not nesecairy: I think her french is perfect.

You might not like her style, but you must admint her top is amazing, no strain at all, never reaches for the high notes, round and deep, BRAVA

I think she's superb in the full lyric roles. She has a creamy voice that reminds me of Te Kanawa. She should concentrate in the lyric roles more than dramatic. She has unfortunatly been trying more dramtic roles whic is a loss at here lyric beauty.

Fleming a un style particulier, un grain de voix très velouté qui convient mieux pour du Richard Strauss, néanmoins j'admire ses qualités techniques.
english : she has her own style but she's better with Richard Strauss I think.

Just to follow up. As Flemming ages she has even taken on some of the *minor* faults of the aging Price. She occasionally hits a false/flat note right after a gorgeous high note or long held phrase. She at times swoops into pitch as later Price did. But ALSO like later Price, her technique and sound remain relatively unimpigned. I imagine Flemming will be able to sing at 80 with the same quality Price did a few months ago.

Leontyne Price sings this music absolutely wonderfully! However, so does Flemming. If you listen to Flemming she models ALOT of her bluesy, swingy technique on Leontyne and both have preserved their upper range better than ANY sopranos with similar vocal heft. You show a lack of musical history to use one great lady to discredit another. I think these two singers understand this music both. They are not a threat to each other. But rather a compliment. Brava Price AND Flemming!!

She can't float the voice? I think you just put a big sign on your forehead that says, "Hi, I'm eze102, and I'm as deaf as a telephone pole." |
