Truth is most teams have to trade to some extent for a legit shot. My Celtics are an example of that now(although Rondo/Pierce/Perk/Powe/Big Baby are all our own picks), but the Lakers also had to make moves for Odom(although in return for Shaq), Fisher(for his 2nd stint) and the steal for Gasol - although admittedly ur key pieces (Kobe/Bynum) are ur own picks. Only Red was able to build successful dynasties based almost entirely on his own draft picks, and even he had to trade for Cousy.

Celtics picked up Ray Allen, Kevin G, Sam Cassell, P.J. Brown, and James Posey... that
is by far more than a than what the lakers have done. Lakers only traded for one palyer maybe two.
