The first home translation (or port) of Strider that was arcade-quality, that was just about as good as the CPS1 arcade game, was the Sharp X68000 version.
X68000 ( X68k for short) was a Japanese high performance computer.
X68K Strider was MUCH better than the MegaDrive/Genesis Strider. It came out (in Japan) in the early 1990s, years before the PS1 port that came with Strider 2, and years before arcade emulation was around.
X68K Strider absolutely SHITS on the MD/Genesis version.
