I loved this game so much, and I was utterly crushed when I heard the 64 version wasn't coming out.
That final battle had to be the most touching fight I have ever had.

So completely true. The creators of this game I think had a very light heart when they made this game, but they also knew some dark underbelly creepy stuff too. I think that's what makes this game so wonderful. The fact that it's everything thrown into one, and done so well.

...many hidden deeper meanings in this battle. This game is epic, and not just for the typical reasons games are epic. It's almost like FF7 where Sephiroth wasn't "evil", he just wanted to be understood and got so depraved and full of despair... look at what he has become. And finally, the fact that the whole world/universe saved the day made everyone a hero, not just these 4. It's like the global intention experiments being done nowadays and quantum physics. This is my deconstruction. Thank you

...place. What happened to him? As for the music and the "image" of Giygas, it is a musical and visual description of the kind of warped mind that Giygas has created. This is his reality. Creepy, disturbed, void of any happiness, depraved, hateful, suspicious, and betrayed. Pokey betrayed him, but I suspect that this has happened before to Giygas. ... from friends and family and such. Giygas's mind collapses from the evil, and I think he has an epiphany when he feels the quote "higher" emotions of love. It gives you insight into Giygas, that he is not just a mindless evil being who wants to destroy everything just BECAUSE he's evil and that's just what evil beings do. He is almost "human", per se, in that he has a free will, and this is what he chose. It makes you wonder what ever made Giygas want to destroy the universe in the first...

...would killing the final boss be done thru prayer (or as I like to think of it, thru going deep within and tapping into the life-force in all things to dispel Giygas)? Why not thru sheer HP damage (nm the damage "pray" does here) like all the rest of the RPG's? Also, the text displayed during the battle is creepy and disturbing to really get across the insanity of Pokey, and not to mention the fact that Giygas is showing remorse, even deep envy for Ness and his friends, that they have love...

This final boss battle... I loved it. I love that it wasn't just a BFG or anything that you won with, it was with the whole world's help. It wasn't just these 4 special kids that saved the universe... the universe fought back against Giygas thru the 4 kids, and also, the deeper meaning of having CHILDREN as the force to stop him. This final battle was more like a scripted event to me to tell a message then an actual battle of skill, and I really think I'm onto something here because why else...
