They were in 1966 with the American Blues Festival in Scheveningen Holland and I was there. They were the best!

James A. Rachell (1910-1997). I like Charlie McCoy (1909-1950) better on blues mandolin than Rachell, but that's just personal taste.

Yank's mandolin is a "Holiday"; appears to be from the Kay factory in Chicago. This looks to be a few years before he picked up the Harmony H35 "batwing" mandolin he became known for playing in his later years.

Wonderfully illustrates Rachel's use of tremelo in blues mandolin.
What brand of mandolin is he playing? I can't make out the logo on the headstock. Not that it matters... I suspect he made any mado sound great.
