A past that I gladly wish to forget introduced me to this fantastic song -but today it has new meaning!

Lyle Lovett understands that great music -whatever style (even country)- comes from the folkiness...he tells great tales. Even the heavier stuff around, when it's good has its roots in folk, despite the distortion...Lyle is not afraid to bare his flaws too...he lives in the moment and is not trying for that next Number 1 hit...some of the most haunting, strange and beautiful songs over the past 20 years...

Even people who detest country love Lyle Lovett's music. I am one of them! He is 100% talent, with no flash. He is my definition of cool.

Awesome video. There is *nothing* like seeing Lyle perform. I watch him perform every year at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. There is nothing better. I also found a great article on Fretbase about how he gets the sound he does. The post also included this video!
