January 1999 Fighting continued in Congo in 1999, despite the peace deal signed and cease-fire of January. Congo has become the crucible for a Central African war motivated by a scramble for resources and ethnic ambitions. The Tutsi led rebel movement won control of a third of Congo. Gains that are largely thanks to Tutsi support from Rwanda and Uganda. Meanwhile, in an extension of Rwanda's genocidal war, Kabila has been recruiting thousands of Hutus. Exiled here after the 1994 genocide, these refugees are a vicious fighting force. For them it's a case of unfinished business. On the ground the UN and Amnesty confirm the murder of thousands of ethnic Tutsis. Lifting the tarpaulin off mass graves the evidence is only too plain to see. Zimbabwe, Angola, Namibia and Chad have all been supporting Kabila's forces despite his unpopularity at home. It's a matter of protecting their own interests. The rebels though have also failed to win the hearts and minds of civilians. "We are tired, we have had enough. We do not need a Kabila yesterday, today the rebels and tomorrow somebody else. We have no peace. We cannot develop" With neighbouring nations openly sponsoring rival factions peace seems a distant hope.

Congo will move on knowing we are at the right, our struggle is just, and the puppets have not won the hearts and minds of the children of the revolution. You lost and were played as fools by a Luba. Wana inchi yetu a true congolese. Laurent Kabila.

The MPR incorporated every recipe to build that national unity. It was a national, cultural, and an authenic revulotion against the colonial stain. Your government and the west was bamboozled by a Luba. He used your military, your conflict, and western pupperty to lead an open march to the capital, and seat the throne. But he too as a Congolese was part of the revulotion and knew its core struggle. The MPR is still a political party with a seat in the assembly, and the Republic is still intact.

First of all you will never understand the Congolese love and hate relationship with Mobutu. He managed to do what a country with just 3 ethnic group, and a region with a total of possibly 130 ethnic group can't seem to get right, he unified Africa third largest country of over 450 ethnic groups. During Mobutu africanzation policy, which gave africa it's Abcoste, New expression, and cultural talent that made ethnicity something of a bygone era. The national identity surpassed that of tribe.

You should also thank Kagame because he helped you overthrow Mobutu who made you miserable for 30 years!Your rebels couldnt fight so Rwanda gave you the best soldiers(kabarebe,kayumba....)but you still dont appreciate. The first step congo should take is to get rid of the Rwanda genocideurs(interahamwe)before they exterminate more innocent people just like they did in 1994!
Babyfacedblackjesus (June 6, 2008 at 6:22 pm)
First of all Kagame didnt cause any genocide because he lost many family and friends during that tragedy(example: his aunt Gicanda who was tortured and shot in the head in the province of Butare). If you had any sense you would know Kagame is the one who stopped the genocide but it wasnt that easy because we had the french trying to exterminate the inkotanyis using destruction weapons that you already know.

You are the survivor of a western backed genocide, made possible by the wicked planning of Kagame, Musveni, and the New Democrat movement that made coltan god from 93-2001. America will always thank you for reducing the price of this computer in front of my face. Thank you for your genocide, and Clinton's economic tech boom. Nextel, Motorola, IBM, DELL, Intel will never forget. Thank you for reducing the cost of electronics in the West. Thank you Kagame, Museveni and thier new advisor Blair.

Just wanted to get your reaction. since you as a native of Rwanda can distingush between a Ugandan tutsi and a Rwandan. You should of distingushed a Western puppet made second in command of Intelligence in Uganda trained by the best America got to offer to forcely march into a country that he can't even speak the native tongue correctly and play a critical role in its destabilzation, gain control and let in the forigen investers and now advisor to gain access to the vast riches of what is congo
Babyfacedblackjesus (June 6, 2008 at 9:02 am)
am sorry man am not Ugandan but i am Rwandan(survivor of the TUTSI genocide). so when you make assumptions about my identity without knowing me it just shows me how ignorant you are so what if laurent nkunda is fighting in congo what can you possibly do about it except sit behind that keyboard and type all kinds on nonsense!!??be careful what you wish for others cuz it might come back to you. Peace!
