CR'HYPHY AINT A MOVEMENT A MOVEMENT HAS TO BE BIGGER THAN YOUR CITY BIGGER THAN YOUR STATE IT HAS TO TAKE OVER, CRUNK IS A MOVEMENT AND CRUNK HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE EARLY 90's, IT TAKES YEARS TO BUILD A MOVEMENT, IT TOOK CRUNK 10 YEARS BEFORE IT GOT IN THE SPOT LIGHT, MAYBE IF HYPHY LAST ANTHOR TEN YEARS IT'LL BE REAL BUT CALIFORNIANS ARE LAZY AND WILL LOSE INTEREST ONCE A NEW TREND COMES OUT, CALI NIGGAZ BE BITTIN MAD STYLES, FOR REAL.

ah you dont know what hyphy is then, because like E-40 had to admit to "hyphy is da cousin of crunk" the mainstream didnt take peices of hyphy, hyphy took peices of the south and rearnged them and tried to call it something else. i mean do i really have to explain how hyphy is a stolen, look at the term lil jon told kids to "shake yo dreads in 98" then Mac Dre grew dreads and yold kids to shake dem dreads" in like 03 and stuna shades come on, who invented stuntin and listen XCT&hennessey

Then you personally have no idea what hyphy is about. Hyphy never became trendy. Mainstream rappers took aspects of hyphy, like language and beat structure, and bastardized them to the point where nobody took it seriously. Hyphy is, and was, a movement for the people and by the people...RIP Mac Dre.

Sorry E-40 but you failed to explain what Hyphy is or was. It doesn't matter now because Hyphy is dead and will eventually disappear.
One of the problems with Hyphy was that no one was articulate enough to define itand provide some guidance. People took "going dumb" and "acting stupid literally" and it made people laugh at the Bay instead of truly respecting it.
Eventually it just became trendy and silly and fizzled out. |
