Yes! We have superior (chops wise) drummers like Verdi and Cully who had both played on pillows before. Not just them but Dennis Chambers as well (just to name 3 famous drummers). Verdi has especially developed syncopations and single stroke proficiencies to a very admirable degree, imo. He resembles Buddy at times (just a short memory of that guy's phenomenal skills).

Ah come on... He was NOT THIS GOOD when he was a kid, that defies any logic. He was certainly a great drummer for his age, but as good as this? I highly doubt! he certainly lacked (as a kid) the jazz experience he would subsequently get as an older player from legends like chick webb, gene krupa and so many other jazz legends. And about Buddy never pratcising... Well he did pratice a lot on pillows to a certain degree, so... Its not EXACTLY like he never practiced before...

LMFAO yes that part would be amazing, i dont get how kids these days think Barker matches up with Rich, only close one is Neil Pert who would humbly admit that his idol Buddy Rich was better then him.. other then that no one would even fucking compare.....
