http://www.yadvashem.org Mordechai Eldar was born in 1929 in Campulung la Tissa, Transylvania. In April 1944 his family's possessions were confiscated and they were deported to the Saltina ghetto. Deported in May from the ghetto to Auschwitz, Mordechai survived Auschwitz, Sachsenhausen, Mauthausen and Gunskirchen. After the war he tried to immigrate to Palestine with his surviving sisters aboard the Exodus ship but the vessel was immediately forced by the British authorities to return to Hamburg upon arrival in Haifa. Emerging from the Holocaust a Zionist, Mordechai decided to devote his life to ensuring the national security of the State of Israel and served in the Israel Defense Forces for 30 years, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel.

To the question of fyfman: I'm not denying the holocaust by the meaning of the word. 'Holocaust' means 'complete(ly) burning' and numerous bodies have been cremated in the camps. But up to today there is no physical evidence that ever any of those burned had been killed by gas. That is, there is no single bone fragment, tooth or so that would support this allegation. The sick victims shown in many films suffered with diseases like especially typhus and were not victims of gassing.

How can any one deny the attrocities that were carried out by the Nazis? Don't believe it? Visit Auschwitz, see the suitcases, see the babies shoes, see the mens shaving brushes. Stand in the gas chamber and feel the chill in your soul. We really must not allow this sort of thing to continue anywhere in the world and it is down to us to continue the history. The people who lived through this are dying now and our duty is to carry their legacy.

Well, I actually know about the Chechens. And yes, maybe you're right- people are afraid of Russia because they ARE strong. Too strong.. and nobody want's to have a 3rd worldwar or war between some countries. Furthermore there are MANY brutal Chechens existing and because only they're shown nobody cares about the innocent people. So the answer for your question is actually an issue of fear and stupid media. But let me tell you, it's not right to envy the amount of attention holocoust gets.

One of the greatest feats of the devil is to convince the world that he doesn't exist... Likewise is the geatest accomplishment of evil men is that they never commited evil.
