Effectively, cyber stands for high-tech, and punk for low-life.
Living the high-tech low-life, that's cyberpunk.
Started as a literary movement, noir urban near-future sf, and has now evolved into post-cyberpunk (because we're pretty much living in the times described by the better cyberpunk). |
