First, this isn't really a practical trap to use. It's too heavy to lug around and when compared to other options, would rank very low. There are many other traps that would work better. Second, though there are some states that restrict it's use, there are many that don't. Third, it's mostly used now for show. People buy them from us for decoration to hang up in a cabin or living room as a conversation piece.

Do people still use these legally anywhere? You didnt show how to release it. I bet it breaks the animals leg, or nose, whatever it sticks inside.
