Uh, okay, though Mitch sounds very lost in a lot of Hendrix numbers (though not this one) and there's an aspect of Jimi's sound that only comes to life in that Band of Gypsy's configuration with two guys who were raised in r&b rather than taught to them by Jimi as on-the-job-training.

mitchs drumming is the best drumming ive heard. its crazy, grooving, and fast just like hendrix...but on percussion

Mitch Mitchell was great. I feel the recordings of Jimi playing are much better when coupled with Mitch's drums ... I have a blues tape with Jimi playing with other drummer and the drummer is really plain and boring ... it just doesn't fit . Mitch was a great companion to Jimi's playing IMHO

It was in the second part with Hey Joe ... after the huge whammy bar usage around 5:25 ... there was absolutely the low E string out of tune... you can see Jimi reacting to it and smiling and laughing and tuning it saying "ohhh" ... haha ... around 6:33 . Too bad the strat just wasn't fully up to the huge deflections used by Jimi's playing. A locked nut/bridge system would have allowed better tuning consistancy (eg Floyd Rose). Perhaps it's all just good and part of the chaos of the time.

wot i thought he dropped from E flat to D on the sixth string for the effect he wasnt out of tune. that is if your talking about when he did it in hey joe PEACE & HAPPINESS

Imagine the dismay of Lulu and her producers when Jimi breaks the plan and goes into "Sunshine." I love this clip.
