I beg to differ, it doesn't sound like you've ever heard many jazz guitarists. Even if you absolutely hate the genre, you gotta respect for the greats like Joe Pass, Lenny Breau, etc. Hendrix's amazingness came from his INCREDIBLE understanding of his instrument and its capabilities, which in my opinion is the epitome of any type of music on any instrument. The only people on level with Hendrix are Breau and Allman, for the same reason as above. And duh, Angus Young sucks shlong dude. Obviously.

I don't understand what all this bullshit is about. You don't need any knowledge of how to play guitar, or the ins and outs of tuning or whatever to know that this is good. The only thing you DO need is ears.

nah man, the guitar went out of tune after he started using the whammy bar. He would beat the fuck out of that thing when he played. but even his guitar going out of tune doesn't change how fucking fantastic this song is

Yeah he's in the middle/neck position most of the song, then for the solo I believe he switches to the middle/bridge postion

At about 5:00, his tone improves a lot. . . And so does his playing. He was one of a kind
