NBA New Orleans Hornets @ Dallas Mavericks Preview

This could be a first round playoff match up because the Mavericks will need to win here to clinch the 7th seed and avoid facing the Lakers and LA was a huge favorite on Tuesday to beat Sacramento at home. New Orleans most likely will have nothing to play for in this game and locked in the two seed at tip off. Should the Lakers win and the Hornets beat the Clippers on Tuesday expect Byron Scott to rest his players in this contest with a possible playoff game in just 3 days and facing travel into New Orleans following this matchup. New Orleans is on the back end of a back to back and since we projected that the Hornets would beat the Clips and the Lakers beat Sacramento on Tuesday we project Dallas to be all out to clinch the 7 seed to avoid the Lakers and win and cover this one. Byron Scott pulls back the reign in this one with a Saturday playoff game a possibility and nothing to play for.
