im not saying this in a 'start an arguement' way,but he was very appreciated when he was alive,..got a fantastic and huge fanbase worldwide..and if you've just discovered luther,you got some great times ahead,because this mans laid down so so many excellent tracks for every mood you'll ever get..your ears are in for a super soul blessing...all the best and enjoy...

Wow! I discovered this guy after he died. I'd heard of him, but had no idea just how great he was. Why do we never appreciate someone until they're gone? Rest in peace, Luther.

I posted in this thread last week. Just wanted to add... Luther was paying tribute to Dionne Warrick, one of the major influences in his career. Smooooth vocals & style.
How fitting was this? Can you imagine his joy at being asked to perform this song at her NAACP award?
'Good morning, good evening, good afternoon, hello,goodbye babybeee" has to be the best "live" improvisation ever.
I'm old enough to remember Dionnes' version in '64. Luther OWNS it here. ;0)
