M. Monnot died in Nov. 1961 from peritonitis resulting from a ruptured appendix. By all accounts she was a gentle and somewhat shy person. Extremely talented. Interestingly, the clip you see of her and Moustaki in this video is actually from a home movie taken during the award given to Piaf for 'Milord' 11/14/1960. This film of of Piaf singing is also from a home movie, but since the length of the film did not match the length of the song, film of Monnot/Must. added by editor as "filler"! |
