Fair point that the Yamato has bigger guns but the Iowa had a higher max speed which would of enabled her to dictate the range which was crucial in any battleship engagement.

Bismarck also had a scout plane and it only sunk one ship, the Hood.

"...the U.S. believed the Yamato had 16 inch (406 mm) " holy shit!

My favorite battleships are the Iowa, King George V, Richelieu, Bismarck, Yamato, & the Littorio Class battleships I think They where the best battleship classes in the US, British, French, German, Japanese & Italian Navies ever. I think they where best designs

Bismark was never built to compete Iowa or Yamato class battleships, she was build ahainst Duncerque and Rcihelieu Class french battleships. For fight against bigger ships the "planes" of the "Z-Plan" ould be better, like the h43 or h44.

the battleship usually depends on the skill of the captain, because the Bismark took out like half the british fleet, but the yamato has a scout plane to send coordinates to the yamato, because the range of its guns are beyond the horizon

""""he yamato would have crushed the bismarck"""" You're right. It LITERALLY would have crushed the Bismark. That ship could have creamed it like a big rig truck against a Corvette and wondered what it was they bumped in to. LOL.

386 Aircrafts were necessary to destroy YAMATO. (180 fighters,75 bombers,131 torpedo bombers) United States was learning the method of destroying Yamato from the attack to Musashi. Musashi was attacked 20 torpedoes,17 bombs, at Oct.24 1944. However, a fire of Musashi was installed at once. Musashi sank by the flood 4hours after the attack. Main armament range of YAMATO is 41.2km, and it is the longest in the world/strongest. It is impossible to win to YAMATO with the battleship.

This is why I said Iowa and her contemporaries could only have matched her in bad visiblity, at night, in fog, ect, when their radar FC would allow them to target more accurately and at longer ranges than the Yamato. In clear daylight, or rain, which was bad for primitive radar, the odds are in Yamatos favour.
